WCI Communities has raised prices in its Somerset neighborhood at Heron Bay in Parkland.
It’s not the amount – just $5,000 – but rather the intent that’s noteworthy here.
Homebuilders have been beaten down for so long, retrenching and trying to survive. An actual price increase, no matter how small, is a sign that the market is improving, analysts say.
WCI says the price bump is the result of high demand and strong sales. The price range at Somerset is $352,900 to $472,900.
Since launching sales at Heron Bay a year ago, the Bonita Springs-based builder says it has sold 91 of 196 homes, including eight last weekend and six more in the first two days of May.
